Impfen Schweiz – A Central Platform for Education & Information

Project Overview

When the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) asked if we could jointly develop a national vaccination hub, it was an exciting and socially relevant challenge for Jung von Matt.

The goal was to create a central platform that clearly, transparently and multilingually informs the Swiss population about current vaccination topics. Based on learnings from the Corona pandemic, a future-proof, user-friendly information portal was to be created – with added value for the population, authorities and media professionals.

Challenge

• Development of a central information hub with content in all national languages and additional languages for minorities
• Technically robust solution that remains performant even under high traffic at all times
• Integration of interactive tools such as a poster generator and a dynamic vaccination calendar as well as a flu vaccination check tool that queries the risks for a flu vaccination
• Editorially completely multilingually maintainable – via a single NEOS backend instance

Solution

• Implementation of a multi-domain and multi-language setup with NEOS CMS and flexible dimension structure
• Development of a modular design system for content, tools and components
• Close coordination with the technical teams of the FOPH and interdisciplinary partners
• Integration of language-specific content, fallback strategies and extensions for additional languages
• Simple content maintenance for the editorial team thanks to intuitive user interface and clear workflows

Results

• Central contact point for vaccination education in Switzerland, platform-independent and barrier-free
• Fully multilingual website with future perspective for new health campaigns
• Dynamic tools such as vaccination calendar, FAQ modules and poster generator
• Technically state-of-the-art – performant, maintainable and secure
• Planned go-live early Q3 2025, in time for the next vaccination season
